GCO 2021 Facilitators!
Linda was born and raised in Queens, New York and is in her third year at UMass. She is studying Political Science, minoring in Anthropology and pursuing a certificate in International Relations. She is passionate about politics and social justice and hopes to continue doing community organizing after college, or practice immigration law. In her free time, Linda likes to spend time with friends, play her ukulele, bullet journal, make art, and play video games.
Sophie Hatcher Peters
Sophie HP was born in Nashville, Tennessee, and grew up in Greensboro, North Carolina. They moved to Northampton to attend Smith college, where they are pursuing a Gender Studies major, a Biology minor, and a concentration in Community Engagement and Social Change. Sophie spends their time in and out of class wondering about and trying to understand the systems of power we all live within through their daily movement through the world. You can often find them washing dishes, going on bike rides, hanging out with animals, taking long drives, and working towards healthy community.
Born in India and raised in Leominster, MA, Akanksha is a senior at UMass pursuing a double major in biology and anthropology. She is passionate about social justice, especially in the context of healthcare and medicine. In the future, she hopes to practice medicine while organizing and finding community-based solutions to health inequities. In her free time, Akanksha likes singing, listening to music, watching Netflix, playing with her dog, and spending quality time with her family and friends.
